The wave of vile laws (and executive actions) sweeping through an arc from Arizona to Virginia is going to get worse before it gets better. (It's an election year.)

The AZ law will be recreated in Texas. Colorado and Utah might follow as the craziness spreads.

Virginia is shooting for some kind of pro-slavery theocracy status.

The Oklahoma abortion law is shocking.

There is an odd coalition of confederate states and sun-belt states with high immigration and hardest hit by the condo melt-down.

Watch Florida, Georgia, and New Mexico. Those states may have some capacity to resist. Nevada and Colorado bear watching for deterioration.

Probable net result, an exacerbation of the ongoing southern-sickness with a distinct zone of states with hostile and aberrant laws. A "new and improved" Mason-Dixon line dividing two very different theories of government, rights and law.

2. The people who gleefully "advised" us to get over it..to move forward" in 2000

seem fixated on Jim Crow days. To them, anyone who is not "white", is also not "equal", and they cannot forget that the "gubbmint" forced them to change.

But until the Lege convenes, nothing will happen.
There's always somebody that comes up with a idiot bill in the off year but until they convene, the bill can't even be considered.

6. This won't last

Anymore than any other bad government ideas have. Look at the Soviet Union and it's Satellite countries. Or the Axis countries in WWII, all of which had huge armies and aggressive leadership. The WWII Axis didn't last even a decade after they became aggressive.

This crap won't last long at all. Stuffing the genie back into the bottle or Pandora back into the box is an exercise in futility. At best the results are temporary.
