The annual report and accounts of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Minci) highlights the most important success stories of the Venezuelan information agency in 2010: "A total of 1,034 presidential activities were aired by the National System of Public Media. These activities include mandatory nationwide radio and TV broadcasts, press releases, videos (and) the weekly TV and radio show Aló Presidente (Hello President), which contributed to turn this system into a priority tool of the revolutionary process."
Minci, headed by Andrés Izarra, spent USD 8.1 million last year in a project called "Socialization of the Presidential Communications."
Meanwhile, Minci also reported that multinational TV network Telesur lost USD 34.6 million in 2010.
