1. dude he's the underdog candidate for AL governor. He was always for the bill. He only voted against

it to get elected governor. Pelosi didn't need him anyway. Plus this guy is a friend of Obama. He would have less of a chance if he voted for it. I can't say I blame him for this.

I dont live there .... I live in the only slightly more progressive state of Tennessee. I'm well aware of what he's up against.

Still doesn't mean I have to like it. We dont give Blanche a pass .... we aren't letting up on Stupak (who voted for the bill.)

5. Davis should not have run for reelection in 2008

If he was planning to run for governor, he would have been better off simply not running for reelection in 2008, allowing a more progressive candidate to win his seat. That would have freed him from having to take unpopular votes or getting tied to the Democratic Congressional majority, and let him campaign for two years for governor.

7. Well we should probably give her a pass too. Some dems' only purpose is to keep repubs from having a

seat. How progressive could any of these dems really be able to get away with coming from these repub districts and states? Sure they're a pain in the ass for progressives but they're also a pain in the ass for repubs too because they kick their asses in election after election. I consider myself a leftist by the way but even I see their only real use.

6. Their internal polls must be showing high approval for HCR amongst likely Dem voters.

My aunt and uncle live in Alabama and they won't vote for anyone who didn't vote for HCR. Also, Davis is wooing the AA vote, which is overwhelmingly pro-Obama in every way. Blanche has to worry about Halter, who is just skewering her from the left.
