***LIVE GOP Debate Thread*** ... Chronicling "teh crazy" in South Carolina.

Tonight’s GOP Pre-Debate Rally Sponsored By Extremists: John Birch Society And The Oath Keepers

In Greenville, South Carolina tonight, five presidential contenders will meet for the first GOP presidential primary debate. According to the official program of the pre-debate “Freedom Rally,” is sponsored by several extremist groups, including the Oath Keepers militia group and the radical anti-communist John Birch Society. You can see a picture of the program here. Here’s the John Birch Society’s booth at the the pre-debate rally:

ABC News reports that The John Birch society, famous for its vocal opposition to the Civil Rights movement, represents “the far-right fringe of American politics.” The Southern Poverty Law Center has listed the John Birch Society as a group that “advocates or adheres to extreme antigovernment doctrines.” The group was so radical — calling President Eisenhower a communist infiltrator and claiming that the Soviets used fluoridated water to control Americans’ mind — that they were effectively exiled by conservatives until 2010. They even recently called Nelson Mandela “a communist terrorist thug.”

Here is the Oath Keepers booth at the rally:

18. That is an excellent idea actually..to abolish corporate tax
Edited on Thu May-05-11 09:21 PM by golfguru
A corporation consists of low paid workers and high paid executives. Corporation owners consist of those who own millions of shares, and also those who own 100 shares or less. Every worker with a 401-k plan or mutual funds owns a small share of corporations.

By taxing the corporation, every one of above people pay a price. Since 100% of corporation OWNERSHIP ends with some individuals somewhere, the fair tax would be a progressive tax on INDIVIDUAL incomes. Spare the small fry and tax the rich is where I stand.

Another significant benefit of eliminating corporate tax is that it will make American corporations more competitive with foreign corporations. It will discourage corporations from moving operations abroad to seek low corporate taxes. That can only help with more jobs staying in this country.

30. Try it you might like it!
Note that in conjunction with reducing/eliminating the
corporate tax, I am for increasing tax rates on high
incomes, making the tax rates more progressive.

raise taxes on both corporations and high income earners. They haven't paid their fair share in decades.

none of these dopes could hit an actual pitch, so Fox will have to set the questions up on a little stand so these nuts can stand there and swing away, hit nothing, run to the wrong base, and then have mommy tell them they hit a home run.

31. Rick Santorum Has Some Very Serious, Serious Issues
He just gives me the creeps. I worry about his family. He strikes me as the kind of person who turns to religion because he has some major self control issues, and he projects his control issues onto everyone else.

Too bad old Donald wasn't there. They actually talked on his level of understanding about politics.

And to think, this was Fox News big event ... NOT!

Come October or so, Republicans will start yelling, "Will someone please step up and take one for the team?"
