Pelosi To Newt: I Don't Need Secret Documents To Embarrass You

Pelosi To Newt: I Don't Need Secret Documents To Embarrass You

When it comes to the Newt Gingrich v Nancy Pelosi war of words that erupted today, Pelosi’s office told Brian Beutler that Pelosi wasn’t talking about dinging Gingrich with some secret cache of documents, but rather the ethics report from the 1990s that’s already available online.

“Leader Pelosi was clearly referring to the extensive amount of information that is in the public record, including the comprehensive committee report with which the public may not be fully aware,” Pelosi spokesperson Karina Newton said.

Go Nancy!

I'm thinking he'll take a quick trip to Kabul and come back saying he's been "brainwashed"-and with that, he'll be out of his misery.\

...or, he could run as a centrist third-party candidate just to get payback on the Teabaggers...

As Pelosi says, this ain't some secret squirrel stuff, it's all a matter of public record and has been for over ten years. That fat ass has been in and out of the news all that time so there was ample time for the lame stream media to bring all this out but we've never heard a word about it.

You can be your ass if Newtie was a Democrat the report would be the topic of avery TV pundit for months if not years. We'd never be allowed to forget it.

46. Well one thing is for sure, Mittens is a loser! ...
He's not merely a flip flopper, he is a shape shifter.

Newt has a nasty mean streak and an enormous ego that will show up soon. If the economy shows any signs of improvement, no current Republican candidate has a chance to beat Obama. He gave a great speech today (11/16) and it was probably the speech that highlighted the issue he will concentrate on for his future campaign. It was uplifting and powerful and reminiscent of his speeches during his first Presidential campaign.

But I did wonder why he didn't give that speech two years ago. He is definitely a great orator and campaigner. I just hope he discovers some leadership skills soon.

It literally SCARES me that Newt is even a consideration. That ANY of the GOP offerings near the top now or in the past have even gotten NEAR a chance of being a nominee.

They are ALL OBVIOUSLY COMPLETELY UNQUALIFIED.

I'm no smarty pants. I'm just a dumbfuck costume designer in NC. How can enough people, smarter than I, allow the parade of nut cases to vie for the nomination of the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES.

It's a joke. The very election of our leaders has become a joke thanks mainly to the GOP.

Of course I went thru this with George W. Bush. And he didn't win. BUT HE STILL BECAME PREZ!!!!

The USA has been toast ever since.

It's scary.

36. Our entire (both parties) electoral process has become corrupt.
When you have an electoral process based on corporate money there is no choice. It is comparable to "reality" tee vee. The least realistic people are used as front people for the corporations to hide behind and control all.

As long as they pledge allegiance to corporate money and influence they are in. It is an outward change with an inward continuity of power. Anyone old enough to remember the USSR and its "politburo" can see the truth. At least in the USSR, the people were aware that their country was run by puppeteers.

It is now the same in America. Voting for "change" has proven itself to be implausible. The moneyed interests run this country, decide policy, etc. and has done so for decades. Like the old adage: "if voting changed anything, it would be illegal." To me that has been proven true, beyond a shadow (government) of a doubt.

GO OWS! OUR LAST CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT.

31. And that fact isn't lost on anyone at this point.
So much for Newt being such a big 'ol smarty pants. He just got out maneuvered....fed enough rope to hang himself. And the fact that he could stop himself from informing everyone there are dark secrets, tells us more about his actual lack smarty pants status.

I think Newt was never ever going to get the GOP nod....so as soon as he is out of the picture, Obama et al, can start disseminating info on Mittens. I'm pretty sure there is a whole years worth of info and withelections being less than a year away, they have to get going asap.

30. Newt has never heard of the Google. Google is our friend.
Edited on Tue Dec-06-11 01:38 PM by Occupy_2012
If you go to the Washington post link posted above, it mentions in the document that Newt and all parties agreed not to dicuss certain information about how they came to their conclusion. At the bottom it says that Newt was out talking to the press about his version, while they were working on it, knowing that the other parties weren't allowed to present the truth. It further states that Newt was made to understand that if he broke the terms of the agreement, the whole deal was off. However, they felt it was in the best interest of Congress to ignore his breaking the rules and move on.

It's pretty ironic he's slamming Pelosi for "breaking the confidentiality agreement," which she did not do, when he's the one who did. If he's going to go flapping his lips about this, somebody needs to remind him he's supposed to shut up too. It's also not clear to me if the "confidentially agreement" was only for the time of the investigation, or forever.

At any rate, there's plenty of stuff on the Google about what a dirtbag Newt is. It's public record, there's a lot of old news archives around. If someone wants to get a library card, for example, you have access to online old news archives for decades from many American newspapers for free. Interesting that he somehow doesn't realize how much info is out there, or thinks the press is so powerless that no one will report it. That's what Keith Olbermann, TYT, Twitter, and political blogs are for. You can't shut everybody up any more.

The other thing that's weird is, what's up with all these old Republicans speaking against Newt? Dan Quayle, who's retired from politics, said Romney was "the only credible candidate," a slam at Newt if ever there was one. Several other Repubs have said they don't want him as the nominee. A lot fo these are older guys who worked with him, and they've been very blunt about how unpleasant he is personally. If some of these guys start talking about their own experiences, I don't think they can be shut up. Repubs very seldom speak against their own no matter what. Plainly they want "anybody but Newt."

45. Newt has never heard of the Google.
And yet, in books like "To Renew America" he writes about future technologies... like the "diagnostic chair". It (in Newty's mind) is a chair you sit in and it takes your blood pressure, temperature, heart rate...etc... and with all the info it gathers, diagnoses your disease. No need for a nurse or doctor (Just some poor children to clean up afterwards maybe). It's THE FUTURE....

...If you have no idea about medicine or biology. ...If you've missed the fundamental notion that everyone is different (even though there are established norms... to compare to) ...If you actually think intuition and human interaction between doctor and patient are of no consequence when diagnosing ...

...If you are an idiot.

48. well despite all that information
dont forget that about 30% of folks get their information from Fokkks, or their local shamen at the fundamentalist churches.. and dont expect the "liberal media" to find the documentation (they are both understaffed, and beholden to their corporate masters)..there is a large part of the population, that is intentionally uniformed.. in fact misinformation is the big industry

actually i heard Joe Scarbourgh tear Newt up today too..i would really like to see him deal with stuff in the middle a campaign, while the man has no shame, the value of disclosure would be to large to ignore, even with the corporate media.. the loss of credability would perhaps have a ripple effect down ticket

53. Actually not true.
First, the members vote for the speaker. There have been Democrats (notably Crazy Jim Traficant) who voted for the Republican for speaker. In fact, I believe there has been 1, maybe 2, individuals who were speaker but not from the majority party. In any event, it is not necessarily a foregone conclusion.
