I think I figured out the GOP plan for the White House.
They're going to let all of the total fucking idiots prove how stupid they are for the 2012 election, resigned to the fact that Obama will trounce any of them. Then the serious (assuming there are any) candidates will begin positioning themselves for 2016 when the field will be open.

1. If one of the R loonies got elected somehow, we'll know the Mayan 2012 prediction is true, because
it would be a real sign of the end times.

8. I've been saying for about a year....
the world will end because Palin gets elected and Christ comes back and says "Allright, that will be JUST ABOUT ENOUGH!!!"

2. I agree with you but
I think their plan is to keep the House and regain the Senate - that is where they are going to put their money. They will also work to keep their governorships so by 2016 they will have completely taken over every branch to totally destroy this country.

3. There are no serious candidates in the republican party anymore
They have all shown their hands and their hands are 100% evil.

14. There are still some at the local and state level, but I suspect they will stay there.
Our state senator is an honest an caring public servant. I wish I could say the same about our state representative, but he's a sell-out.

4. They will try to win by massively cheating
Almost every state with republican governors will be mired in massive cheating in republican controlled counties.

5. TPTB have the best of both worlds.
They have a President that keeps/passes the legislation they want and they get to blame him/Dems for passing it.

You don't fix what isn't broken.

16. Bingo!
Why waste their money on federal races when the "Demo" Prez. and "Demo" Congress passes every damn thing they've been trying to get for the past 30 years?!?

They'll put their money in the governorships and state legislatures -- destruction at the local level is far more impossible to recover from.

6. Phase one: block all Democratic Legislation. Phase two: Win in 2010, keep the economy bad
Edited on Fri May-27-11 12:27 PM by emulatorloo
Phase Three: Blame democrats for the what Republicans orchestrated in Phase 1 and 2.

Too bad Paul Ryan fucked it up with his "Plan" to kill Medicare.

10. I've said it for months...
Palin runs and gets beat. Pubs pick up a couple more Senate seats, retain the House and Obama is a punching bag for 4 more years.

2016 the Pub nominee WILL BE Marco Rubio.

Actually, their plan is slightly different.
Edited on Fri May-27-11 02:40 PM by NYC Liberal
There was an article that said the Republicans wanted a bland, boring type like Mitch Daniels to be the sacrificial lamb for this election and prevent one of the crazies from getting the nomination.

Their thinking is that if one of the crazies is nominated, they might not only lose this election but damage the party so much that they screw them for 2016 too. So they want someone to just go through the motions without doing any real damage.
