cat that fears no dog
Day In Pictures Friday January 14, 2011
He looks tougher when he's not kneading his blankie: For three years, Harley the fearless feline has been the benchmark by which Animal Humane New Mexico judges if stray dogs can handle being around cats. Animal Humane estimates Harley has stared down more than 700 dogs placed in his presence with his Clint Eastwood glare. But now, after a job well done, he's retiring and hoping to be adopted.

2. Looks like he's ready to open a cap of whoop ass on you. Or pull a knife.
Damn. I though we had a bad assed cat.

3. Cool cat
We had a cat (that died when she was 21) that fought every dog that entered her "space". When I was a kid I couldn't understand why cartoons always showed dogs chasing cats because Tisha (short for Morticia) would kick the shit out of all the dogs in the neighborhood if she was disturbed.

4. Hah! Our cat could kick his ass
We have two one-hundred pound labs that won't come in the house because they are scared to death of our 25 lb blue eyed white cat.

He has the same kind of mean expression and even though he isn't nuts the dogs don't know that.

Only his mama was brave enough to stand up to him but she's in cat heaven now.

16. I've seen a barely weened kitten take down a red heeler.
Latched onto a lip and had the sense not to let go till Max submitted.

6. Awwwww! What a pretty cat...
He's certainly earned his "retirement' and I hope he finds a really good home. Obviously, a home that also has dogs won't be a problem. :D :loveya:

8. Only a very stupid dog would stare down a cat
I've seen one or two fights between cats and dogs and the dog has always come out the loser. Our new dog Zena is currently trying to get to know our two cats. She's full of energy and they're both much older. Neither of them want anything to do with the dog. They will tolerate her on the bed with them, but if she gets too close, the hissing and spitting begins. The cats both know that she's just young and dumb and as long as they have an out- they just make their exit when she's pestering them.

10. Grandama had a big b&w Tom named Babe and he ran off all dogs..
including German Shepherds, Great Danes, Pit Bulls and a St Bernard. On the other hand he smuggled 2 just weaned kittens into the house and was sleeping with them and protecting them and was quite put out when they were returned to their mother.

11. My rescue has a cat here named Cleo, or "PitbullTestKitty"
She has put every single dog in his/her place, at the same time telling us if a dog should be around cats or not. I've had ex-fighters, Dogos, dobies, danes, terriers of every kind...she's bested them all. My current dane is her best friend...because he's huge and he'll do her bidding.

Evil, manipulative cat.
