I smell a (trained) rat.......
As a former New York resident, this rat seems a little too well-coiffed and friendly to me.

from HuffPost:

A rat crawling on a sleeping man's face was no doubt horrible for the poor, unsuspecting napper, but it was a very fortunate occurrence for the guy who filmed the shiver-inducing incident.

Jeffrey Forde, the man behind the camera that followed a terrified rat as it ran around a subway car, has sold his footage for nearly $4,000 to several media outlets.

The video, which has generated nearly half a million views on YouTube, has also inspired a T-shirt which caused Gothamist to wonder if, rats inside subway trains are "the key to NYC's economic recovery."

In his interview with WABC on Thursday night, Forde sympathized with the man whose harrowing experience helped put money in his bank account.

"That poor unfortunate guy, he just got a face full of rat," Forde said. "Some people catch it and tell the story later, then other people like me would catch it and actually show people later."

1. I saw this story on the news.
I saw the rat and I agree, he looked well taken care of and friendly, more so than my pet rat whom I brought home from college, was my lab rat in Experimental Psych and I kept him. He was never mistreated, but he was always a little nervous, while this one kinda looked like a "lap rat..." ;)

3. My thoughts exactly.
I thought this right away when I saw this video. This is clearly someone's pet -- he was way too familiar with people, friendly and comfortable. He even seemed to be "asking" for food. What sort of irritates me is that someone put him in a dangerous position by letting him run around the car (if he is indeed a pet) -- someone could have tried to hurt him out of fear. Hey, I felt for the rat since he seemed to be a "well-coiffed" pet.

5. That's exactly the way that I felt...
He looked like he was probably someone's pet, not used to being on his own, and I worried about what might happen to him. :(

4. Little fatty rat. Hope they didn't kill him. He looks like somebody's pet.
