Question I want to ask the Westboro Baptist Losers

Okay... here's a timely logic bomb that I want to drop on the Westboro Baptist idiots.

One of the heroes of Tucson was Daniel Hernandez, who is an openly gay man. He was standing right in the middle of the action, taking care of Rep. Giffords. Bullets were flying all around him. So... if, as they claim, God hates homosexuals and is punishing our country for tolerating them, why didn't God guide a bullet towards the hated "f@g" rather than an innocent child, a pastor, or a grandmother? I mean, if God truly hates f@gs, why didn't He use that opportunity to rid the world of one, instead of leaving him alive to become a hero?

I'd love to ask this of them, and watch their heads explode.

Unfortunately, they don't have functioning brains and are unable to experience cognitive dissonance, so they would either stare at you blankly or say something stupid like "God works in mysterious ways".

Therefore, she is a fag-enabler and gives God a reason to hate America and she deserved what she got, despite surviving the assassination attempt.

Hernandez will have to answer to God's judgment once He returns to punish the United States for their wicked ways. To them, it doesn't matter whether or not Hernandez was shot, it's that he will eventually meet his Maker and they are confident Daniel will spend eternity paying for his sinful ways.

No offense, but you will never make their heads explode. It's impossible. They are detached from reality and will argue with you to the point of frustration, they are that irrational. It's best to not even engage them, since they love the attention.

If you ever have the unfortunate luck of having them visit a community that you belong to or one that is nearby, a productive, non-confrontational counter-demonstration is to facilitate a grassroots fundraiser where you get people to pledge x amount of dollars for every minute that they are protesting. And then you donate that money to an LGBT organization, or an organization relevant to the reason why they showed up to protest in the first place.

Protesting something at American University. Unfortunately, I just heard about it after the fact, or I'd have gone down there and protested against them.

12. It's a tough First Amendment issue

All those kids at the Mormon splinter group in Texas are back home, and we don't tell the Amish how to raise theirs either.

We are rightly very squeamish about interfering in "religious upbringing" as long as the children are fed, clothed, housed, educated in some way, and not physically abused. There are at risk children whom the state services are already hard pressed to serve without spending gazillions on legal expenses in relation to the Phelps clan.
