Novi dad kills wife and sons, 4 and 6, then self; '

A man killed his 38-year-old wife and two children today at their home in Novi before taking his own life in a parking lot in Lyon Township, authorities said.


Mark and Jennifer Schons, were having marital and financial problems, though a motive for the killings was unknown late in the day.
“Our job now is to try to move backwards and figure out the hours and the moments in the last 19-24 hours,” said David Molloy, Novi’s director of public safety. “We may never know what triggered this.”
The tragedy became apparent after police made a check at the family’s home on Applebrooke near 9 Mile and Napier shortly after noon. The bodies of Jennifer Schons and the children — Camden, 4, and Tynan, 6 — were found in separate bedrooms, police said.
