15. I'm just getting around to reading Howard Zinn's "People's History of the United States"...
.
.
.
...and I believe he says that by the 1870's, the Supreme Court
had essentially declared corporations' "personhood" and that the
14th Amendment, basically intended to protect the rights of
African-Americans, had been invoked in about 18 lawsuits
involving them -- and 228 involving the "rights" of corporations.
.

Nothing hew here. Move along, folks.

21. You'll notice the repeating theme with that book, MFM...
... Amazing that beginning with the arrival of Chris Columbus, it just keeps repeating and repeating, and repeating..... over and over and over.

20. Since corporations involve more than one person nothing they do is technically "private" either.
I think the term "privacy" in this context refers to the amount of control people have over the scope of transmission of their information.

Almost 20 centuries ago. Also in the old testament, usury (aka banking) was one of the big sins.

So it seems to me "same as it ever was..." ;-)

People voluntarily put the information there. For their own purposes. FB doesn't charge $$. That is the price.

Just a silly comparison. Julian steals information people expect to be private. The other guy uses what people voluntarily give him in a public place.

49. Never have registered as a member on FB
Edited on Sat Jan-15-11 10:49 PM by Urban Prairie
When it first became popular, I thought that it would only be appealing to those looking to network for better/new job opportunities or promotions, and I wasn't in that category. However, I was a seller on eBay and Amazon for a period of several years, and they were the only internet websites where I ever had to reveal my true identity and location, in order to make sales, and I managed to maintain a perfect seller rating on both. It was not easy to avoid getting negative feedback, because my wife and I were desperately struggling to make ends meet during those years, her career job had been outsourced, and I was waiting to receive approval for my disability retirement, and was quite ill during almost the entire time.

50. All the wonderful sounding words:
..."rule of law" "the presumption of innocence" "liberty and justice" "a government of, by and for the people" -- are just that -- nice sounding words.

Still, I suppose that it is a good thing to see that we are slowly but surely opening our eyes to these facts and are coming to understand that we live in a fascist police state. A state where the banks own everything -- but only by virtue of our sufferance -- only because we say they do -- only because we allow them to rob us blind.

- Because this is what they do......

K&R

"The study of money, above all other fields in economics, is one in which complexity is used to disguise truth or to evade truth, not to reveal it. The process by which banks create money is so simple the mind is repelled. With something so important, a deeper mystery seems only decent."

~John Kenneth Galbraith
