Radio & TV Talk Royal Marshall, Neal Boortz’s engineer, has passed
Damn. Only 43 years old...........

Raymond Royal Marshall, sidekick and engineer for syndicated talk show host Neal Boortz, has died.

Pete Spriggs, program director for AM750 and now 95.5 FM News/Talk WSB, said he collapsed at his Atlanta home and was pronounced dead at Grady Hospital at about 1 a.m. early Saturday morning.

Assistant Program Director Condace Pressley said it was too soon to pinpoint cause of death. He was 43.

“He was a good man,” she said. “I can’t believe he’s gone.”

Marshall has worked with Boortz for 17 years, according to the WSB Radio biography for Marshall.

1. I can't imagine anyone working for Boortz for 17 years...
I imagine he has earned his eternity at peace. No snark intended. I'll just leave it there.

4. I feel sorry for his family and friends,

but any man that chose to work with Boortz, a man who has spent his career as a professional liar and hate merchant, is not a "good" man in my opinion. Trading one's soul for a few dollars is hardly worthy of praise.

9. You don't have a clue about Royal

None whatsoever.

Your words hurt me deeply, as I considered him a dear friend.

There are many here on this board who work for unscrupulous corporations.

Should they all quit their jobs so you won't piss on their graves before they're even in the ground?

7. OMG OMG OMG

This just hit me like a ton of bricks...

Royal was one of my favorite people at WSB.

He sometimes board-opped for my little show, too, and he was always the best...cool, calm and collected.

When I was pregnant with my last kid, I did the late night shift, running reels of Boortz's daytime schtick. Royal would leave me notes on the reels, where to start them at the top of the hour, screw-ups, etc. I saved a lot of those notes becuase some of them were so damned funny.

OMG. I am going to go  now....

Thanks for posting this CatWoman

I never read anything bad about him. His boss is an ass, though.

11. Since some here want to be like those who cheered Christina Green's

passing, here is another article about Royal from the AJC:

http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta/royal-marshall-boortz-radio-805217.html

Raymond Royal Marshall was a producer for the Neal Boortz radio talk show, but he was as much a radio personality as Mr. Boortz himself.

Mr. Marshall would occasionally rein in the sometimes caustic Mr. Boortz with the breezy observation, “Man, you ain’t right.” He freely offered informed opinions on the topic of the day even if they differed from the host’s.

snip

“There was the single Royal who loved to have fun. Then there was the, ‘I’ve met this girl I knew in high school and we’ve become reaquainted and now we’re getting married,’” Mr. Boortz recalled. “All of a sudden it was a different Royal Marshall. I’ve known a lot of family men. I’ve known a lot of people dedicated to their wives. I’ve never known anyone devoted to his wife like Royal.”

Mr. Boortz said everything came in a distant second to his family. Last Christmas, Mr. Boortz and the rest of the staff for the show took a day-trip to New York, but Mr. Marshall declined because he wanted to be with his daughters.

Don't be like those hate-filled on the right, thinking it makes you more "progressive." Think before you blurt out hurtful things about people.
