Medicare chief Donald Berwick resigning - withdraws name after GOP blocks permanent role
http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/health-care/medicare-chief-don-berwick-steps-down-in-standoff-with-gop-senators-over-his-confirmation/2011/11/23/gIQAoOThoN_story.html

"Berwicks statements as an academic praising Britains government-run health care had become a source of controversy in politically polarized Washington. Although he later told Congress that the American system needs its own solution and Britains shouldnt be copied here, his critics were not swayed."
